Arts, American Federation of (AFA), is a nonprofit service organization that aims to broaden public knowledge and appreciation of historical and contemporary art. Each year, the AFA organizes or circulates many art exhibitions to member museums, university art galleries, and cultural centers throughout the United States and other countries. It also organizes exhibitions of fine art, decorative art, architecture and design, photography, and film and video. Hundreds of art institutions belong to the organization, which was founded in 1909. AFA headquarters are in New York City.
