Adonis

Adonis, << uh DON ihs, >> is the name of a group of plants that grow wild in Europe and Asia. They are sometimes cultivated in gardens in North America. Some types of Adonis plants may grow 1 foot (30 centimeters) high. The autumn Adonis, also called pheasant’s-eye, has flowers with bright red petals. The spring Adonis has flowers with gold petals.
