Air Transport Association of America (ATA) is an organization of scheduled airlines of the United States. ATA works to improve air safety, to help produce economical, efficient air service, and to coordinate the airlines’ role in national defense. The organization was founded in 1936. It has headquarters in Washington, D.C.
