Alberta, University of, is a public university with its main campus in Edmonton, in the Canadian province of Alberta. The university’s Faculty of Native Studies focuses on issues that affect Indigenous (native) peoples in Canada. In addition to the original campus—North Campus—in Edmonton, the university also has three other campuses in Edmonton. They are South Campus, Enterprise Square, and a French-language campus called Campus Saint-Jean. The university’s Augustana Campus, in Camrose, serves students in rural areas. The University of Alberta was established in 1906. It offered its first classes in 1908. The university’s men’s athletic teams are called the Golden Bears, and women’s teams are called the Pandas.
