American Baptist Churches in the U.S.A.

American Baptist Churches in the U.S.A. is an organization of Baptist associations, churches, and mission agencies. It is a member of the Baptist World Alliance, Christian Churches Together, the National Council of Churches, and the World Council of Churches. The organization has relationships with a number of colleges, hospitals, retirement homes, theological seminaries, and other institutions. It supports agricultural, educational, evangelistic, and medical missions in many countries. The organization’s headquarters are in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

American Baptist Churches in the U.S.A. was formed as the Northern Baptist Convention in 1907. Its purpose was partly to help coordinate the work of national educational and missionary bodies established by Baptist churches in the early 1800’s.
