Angora, << ang GAWR uh or ang GOHR uh, >> is a hair fiber made from the fur of the Angora rabbit. The term is sometimes used for hair fiber made from the Angora goat, but the goat fiber is correctly called mohair. Both animals are native to the Turkish province of Ankara (formerly Angora). Pure angora is used to make soft fabrics. It is usually blended with other fibers and then spun into yarn. Angora is also the name of a type of cat. See also Cat (Long-haired breeds) ; Mohair .
