Basenji, << buh SEHN jee, >> is a breed of dogs first found in central Africa. Basenjis cannot bark, but they can make a yodeling sound. They stand 16 to 17 inches (41 to 43 centimeters) tall at the shoulder and weigh 22 to 24 pounds (10 to 11 kilograms). Basenjis have short, silky hair of various colors and pointed ears. There are rows of wrinkles on their foreheads.
