Beggar-ticks, also called stick-tights, is a type of plant with sticky, flat, seedlike fruits. The fruits or segments of fruits have tiny hooks that stick to the fur of animals or to clothing, as do ticks. People and animals scatter the fruits. The tick trefoil bears similar sticky fruits and is often referred to as beggar’s-ticks.
