Border, Allan (1955-…), a correct but aggressive left-handed Australian batsman, was captain of the Australian cricket team from 1984 to 1994. He made his first-class debut for New South Wales, Australia, in the 1976-1977 season. He later played for New South Wales and, in England, for the counties of Gloucestershire and Essex. His Test career began in 1978. In 1993, when he led Australia against New Zealand, his Test total passed 10,000 runs.
