British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom and one of the largest libraries in the world. The library, located in London and Yorkshire, automatically receives a copy of each new book published in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Its collections also include items from all over the world. Many of the most outstanding items are on permanent display, including two original copies of Magna Carta (see Magna Carta). The British Library was formed in 1973.
