Catholic Library Association (CLA) is an organization interested in encouraging good literature and improving libraries in Roman Catholic institutions in the United States and in other countries. Publications include Catholic Library World, The Catholic Periodical and Literature Index, and bibliographies on religious subjects. CLA sponsors the Regina Medal, a children’s literature award (see Regina Medal). CLA was founded in 1921 and has headquarters in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
