Christian Endeavor is an interdenominational Christian organization that assists local churches in reaching young people with the gospel of Jesus Christ . The goal of the organization is to develop young people in the Christian faith and equip them for Christian ministry and service in their churches, communities, and the world. Christian Endeavor produces training and development resources to help adults at local churches achieve this aim.
Francis E. Clark, the pastor of a Congregational church, began the movement in 1881 in Portland, Maine. Today, the organization is based in Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania. Participating churches are connected by a network of local and national unions in a number of countries around the world.
