Coulomb

Coulomb << KOO luhm or KOO lom >> is a standard unit used to measure electric charge. It is defined in terms of electric current, the movement of electric charge. One coulomb (1 C) is the amount of electric charge transported by a constant current of one ampere in one second. One coulomb is about equal to the charge of 6.24 x 1018 protons. The name coulomb was chosen to honor the French physicist Charles Augustin de Coulomb. See also Farad.
