Cuernavaca

Cuernavaca << `kwehr` nuh VAHK uh >> (pop. 341,029) is the capital of the state of Morelos in Mexico. It lies about 37 miles (60 kilometers) south of Mexico City. The city’s mild climate and beautiful scenery have made it a popular resort. The city has many beautiful estates and ancient buildings. Tourist attractions include the Palace of Cortés and the Borda gardens. The Spaniards founded the city in 1521.
