Datura, << duh TYUR uh, >> is the name of a group of poisonous plants that includes jimson weed and angel’s trumpet. These large, bushy plants, often called thorn apple, have ill-smelling leaves and prickly fruit. The trumpet-shaped flowers range in color from white to lavender. Daturas are native to the tropics, but a few species also now grow in the eastern part of North America.
