Davidson, Alan (1929-2021), one of Australia’s finest all-around cricketers, played in 44 Test matches between 1953 and 1963. A fast, left-arm bowler, he took 186 wickets in Test cricket for an average of 20.58 runs per wicket. He was also a hard-hitting batsman.
Alan Keith Davidson was born on June 14, 1929, in Lisarow, New South Wales, Australia. He retired from international competition in 1963 and wrote his autobiography, Fifteen Paces, the same year. Davidson died on Oct. 30, 2021.
