Dik-dik is one of the smallest antelopes. Dik-diks live in dense wooded areas. They are native to eastern and southwestern Africa. The tallest dik-diks are about 15 inches (40 centimeters) high at the shoulder. Females are larger than males but have no horns.
Dik-diks are delicate, slender animals with tiny hoofs, short tails, and long hairy muzzles. They live alone or in groups of two or three. Dik-diks warn each other of danger with high-pitched whistles.
