Disabled American Veterans (DAV)

Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is an organization of men and women who have developed disabilities in the line of duty during time of war. The organization was founded in March 1920 by a group of veterans with disabilities, led by Judge Robert S. Marx of Cincinnati, Ohio.

The purpose of the organization is to care for veterans with disabilities and to help them maintain a useful way of living. The DAV receives no government funds. Money for rehabilitation work comes mainly from private contributions. National headquarters of the DAV are in Cold Spring, Kentucky.
