Dolphinfish, << DAHL fuhn fihsh, >> also called dorado or mahi mahi, is a large game fish that lives in warm salt waters throughout the tropical oceans. The largest dolphinfish measure about 6 feet (1.8 meters) long and weigh 75 pounds (34 kilograms). The fish’s long body tapers to a V-shaped tail. Its skin is shimmery bluish-green and silver. A fast swimmer, the dolphinfish sometimes chases down and eats flyingfish. Farm-raised dolphinfish rank as a popular food fish.
