Duisburg

Duisburg is built where the Ruhr River flows into the Rhine River. The city is a gateway to the factories and mineral deposits of the Ruhr region. Duisburg produces almost half of Germany’s iron and steel. The city’s other chief products include chemicals, foods, and machinery. Duisburg is also an important center for shipping companies.
