Duralumin

Duralumin, << du RAL yuh muhn, >> is a trade name for a kind of aluminum-copper alloy. A typical duralumin alloy is made up of about 95 percent aluminum, 4 percent copper, 0.5 percent magnesium, and 0.5 percent manganese. Some duralumin alloys also include a small amount of silicon or iron. Duralumin has strength and lightness and is used in making aircraft parts and heavy-duty equipment.
