Eastbourne (pop. 101,689) is a seaside resort and local government district in East Sussex, England. It has 3 miles (5 kilometers) of promenade above a shingle beach. The town has several theaters and a pier. Beachy Head, a tall chalk cliff, stands to the west of Eastbourne and overlooks a lighthouse. See also Sussex.
