Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC)

Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) is an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture. It helps insurance companies insure farmers against loss of crops due to such causes as drought, flood, freeze, or a sharp drop in a crop’s market price. To carry out its programs, the FCIC uses the facilities and personnel of the Agriculture Department’s Risk Management Agency. The FCIC was established in 1938.
