Flores Island

Flores, << FLOH ruhs, >> Island (pop. 3,816), known for its abundant foliage, is the westernmost island of the Portuguese Azores. It covers 55 square miles (143 square kilometers). The main occupations are dairying and raising cattle. Most of the island’s people live in Santa Cruz, the largest town, or in Lajes. See also Azores.
