Florida State University is a public, coeducational school in Tallahassee, Florida. Florida State University was founded in 1851. It is part of the Florida State University system. Florida State also has a campus in Panama City. Its Coastal & Marine Laboratory is in St. Teresa, Florida. Florida State University’s Medical School has a number of campuses in Florida in addition to the main Tallahassee campus. Medical campuses include those in Daytona, Fort Pierce, Orlando, Pensacola, and Sarasota, and several rural campuses. The university’s athletic teams are called the Seminoles.
