Gamblers Anonymous, also called G.A., is a worldwide organization that works to help men and women who suffer from a driving urge to gamble. Members include people who have solved gambling problems. They meet regularly to share their recovery experiences with others whose gambling problems have caused them trouble and misery and who want to do something about it. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop gambling.
Gamblers Anonymous was founded in Los Angeles in 1957. It now has local groups in the United States and many other nations. The Gamblers Anonymous International Service Office is the center for all G.A. activities. G.A. is headquartered in Los Angeles.
