Gasnier, Reginald

Gasnier, Reginald (1939-2014), became known as one of the greatest centers in the history of Australian Rugby League football. Gasnier became the youngest Australian at 23 years old to captain an international match against the United Kingdom in 1962, and captained Australia in 1964 and 1967. He broke his leg during a Test match in 1967, and the injury brought about his retirement. Gasnier represented Australia in 36 international matches. He was born on May 12, 1939, in Sydney, Australia. He died on May 11, 2014.
