Geraldton (pop. 32,717) is a port and resort city in Western Australia. It lies on the western coast, about 260 miles (420 kilometers) north of Perth. Geraldton is the chief center of Western Australia’s crayfish industry. Geraldton is one of the chief grain-exporting cities and is the exporting city for the mineral sands activity in the area. The port also handles live sheep shipments to the Arabian ports.
