Guillemot, << GIHL uh mot, >> is a sea bird in the auk family. The black guillemot, or sea pigeon, lives on both coasts of the North Atlantic. It is about 13 inches (33 centimeters) long, and it has a slender, pointed bill and bright red legs and feet. Its feathers are black with white wing patches in summer. It is mostly white in winter. The pigeon guillemot, or sea pigeon, lives on the Pacific coast of North America.
