Indian paintbrush is a group of handsome wildflowers that grow primarily in the western United States. The Indian paintbrush is also called painted cup. The flowers of the plant are small and mostly green. They are surrounded by brightly colored leaves, called bracts, that look like petals. The bracts are red, yellow, pink, or lavender. There are about 200 species (kinds) of Indian paintbrush. One species is the state flower of Wyoming.
