Irish setter

Irish setter is an attractive dog with a brownish-red coat. The coat may be solid red, or red with white markings on the forehead, chest, and feet. Solid red Irish setters are the most common. In the United States and Canada, the solid red coat is preferred for show dogs. In Ireland, where the breed originated, there is no favorite coloring for show dogs. Irish setters stand between 25 and 27 inches (64 and 69 centimeters) high at the shoulder and weigh from 60 to 70 pounds (27 to 32 kilograms). Basically a hunting dog, the Irish setter is also popular as a pet. See also Irish red and white setter; Setter.
