Jacaranda

Jacaranda, << `jak` uh RAN duh, >> is the Brazilian name for a group of trees and shrubs native to tropical America. The tall, beautiful fern-tree jacaranda grows in many subtropical regions of the world, including the Southern United States. Its large fernlike leaves consist of many tiny leaflets. The tree sheds its leaves in early spring. In late spring, it produces large clusters of beautiful bluish-violet flowers.
