Jewish Women, National Council of, is a volunteer organization in the United States that sponsors educational and community service programs for children, teen-agers, and the aged. It is also concerned with such subjects as constitutional rights, women’s issues, the aging, Jewish life, and Israel. The NCJW has also supported affordable, quality child care. It supports the Women and Gender Studies Program at Tel Aviv University in Israel. The NCJW was founded in 1893. Headquarters are in New York City.
