Kukui

Kukui, << koo KOO ee, >> also called candlenut, is the state tree of Hawaii. It has long spreading branches with light green leaves. Kukui trees grow on mountain slopes and can reach heights of 60 feet (18 meters). The fruits are green and about 2 inches (5 centimeters) in diameter. They contain oil that can be used for lamp fuel and varnish. Kukui nuts are used to make jewelry and leis.
