Lassen Volcanic National Park is located in northeastern California. It includes 10,457-foot (3,187-meter) Lassen Peak. The park was established in 1916. In the park’s Chaos region, hundreds of steep domes of lava that were pushed up from below the earth’s surface form odd-looking formations. These formations are called Chaos Crags and Chaos Jumbles. Dozens of glacier-made lakes are in the park. Reflection Lake mirrors Lassen Peak. Three large lakes called the Chain-of-Lakes lie in the eastern part of the park.
