Logbook

Logbook is the official or legal written record of the events that take place during a ship’s voyage. The log may be written up once a day by the captain of the ship, or it may be written by the officer in charge of each watch. It includes a record of the ship’s course and speed, the weather, and any ships or lands sighted. It also includes mention of any sickness, death, or crime on board ship, and of any other unusual event. See also Log .
