Miller, Keith (1919-2004), one of Australia’s finest all-around cricketers of the 1940’s and 1950’s, was an aggressive batsman and fast-bowler. He played in 55 Test matches, scoring 2,958 runs at an average of 36.97 runs each innings, and taking 170 wickets at an average of 22.97 runs each wicket. His highest test score was 147 runs, against the West Indies in 1955. His best bowling performance was 7 wickets for 60 runs, against England in Queensland, Australia, in 1947.
Keith Ross Miller was born on Nov. 28, 1919, in Sunshine, Victoria, Australia. He played Australian Rules Football for Victoria and New South Wales. Miller made his Test debut in 1945-1946 and played his last Test match in 1956-1957. After his retirement, he became a well-known journalist. Miller died on Oct. 11, 2004.
