Montana State University is a state-assisted school. Its main campus is in Bozeman. It also has campuses in Billings, Great Falls, and Havre. Montana State was founded in 1893 as Montana State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts. By the 1910’s, the school was called Montana State College. In 1965, it was renamed Montana State University. It is part of the Montana University System. The university’s athletic teams are called the Bobcats.
