Mount Logan

Mount Logan is the highest peak in Canada and the second highest peak in North America. Only Denali in Alaska is higher (see Denali ). Mount Logan rises 19,551 feet (5,959 meters) and is part of the Saint Elias Range in the southwest corner of Yukon. It lies in Canada’s Kluane National Park among the world’s largest concentration of ice fields and glaciers. The peak was named for Sir William E. Logan, director of the Geological Survey of Canada from 1842 to 1869. It was first climbed by a joint United States-Canadian team in 1925.
