Mountain avens

Mountain avens is a group of small, hardy plants that grow wild in northern and Arctic regions. The plants have small, saucer-shaped, yellow or white flowers. They grow on high ledges, on rocky slopes, and in tundra or heath (open wasteland) in North America, Europe, and Asia. White mountain avens, also called eight-petaled mountain avens, is the floral emblem of Canada’s Northwest Territories.
