National Baptist Convention of America, Inc. , is an organization of African American Baptists. It originated with the founding of the Foreign Mission Baptist Convention in 1880. The National Baptist Convention was formed in 1895, when the Foreign Mission Baptist Convention merged with two other Baptist conventions. In 1915, this group split into the National Baptist Convention of America and the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. The National Baptist Convention of America, Inc., is an agency of Christian education and missionary work. It combines the efforts of Baptist churches and organizations in missionary activity nationally and internationally. It supports foreign missions in Ghana, Haiti, Jamaica, Panama, and the Virgin Islands.
