National Primitive Baptist Convention is a religious organization that has hundreds of independent churches. Each church is independent in controlling its own membership. These Baptists follow three ordinances (established religious ceremonies)–baptism, Holy Communion, and foot washing rites. They believe that a definite number of the human race were chosen for redemption before the world was created, and these persons will be saved before the final judgment. The convention was formed in 1907. It consists of state conventions and associations. The organization’s headquarters are in Tallahassee, Florida. See also Baptists .
