Nevada Falls

Nevada Falls is a waterfall in Yosemite National Park, California. This 594-foot (181-meter) drop of the Merced River represents a step in the “Giant’s Stairway” as the river descends 2,000 feet (610 meters) in a distance of 11/2 miles (2.4 kilometers) from Little Yosemite Valley to Yosemite Valley proper. Indians named it squirming fall because a curving rock causes the water to twist aside as it descends.
