New Mexico State University

New Mexico State University is a land-grant university in Las Cruces, New Mexico. A land-grant university is partly endowed by the United States government under the Morrill, or Land-Grant, Act of 1862. New Mexico State University offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs. It was founded in 1888 as Las Cruces College. It became the New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts in 1889. The university received its present name in 1960.
