Octahedron is any solid, three-dimensional figure with eight faces. It is a type of polyhedron (solid figure with many faces). The faces of an octahedron need not have the same shape. Some may be triangles and others another kind of polygon. A variety of octahedron called a regular octahedron is a convex polyhedron in which all of the eight faces are congruent equilateral triangles.
