Otoscope is an instrument that doctors use to examine the eardrum. The otoscope consists of a magnifying lens and a light that is powered by a battery. The light illuminates the eardrum and the lens magnifies it about six times. The otoscope makes it possible for the doctor to see changes in the eardrum resulting from infections and diseases.
