Potsdam (pop. 156,021) is a city on the Havel River in the state of Brandenburg, Germany. The city has beautiful parks and palaces that formerly served as residences for the Prussian nobility. Potsdam was the site of the Potsdam Conference, a meeting of Allied leaders following World War II (1939-1945).
