Proclamation is an executive notice issued under the authority of the head of a state or country. It announces some order or regulation that is important to the people. A proclamation that grants a pardon to rebels is a proclamation of amnesty. A proclamation may declare a public holiday. Usually a proclamation appears in printed form.
