King’s evidence, in the United Kingdom, is a person who, while accused of a crime, volunteers and is permitted to give evidence against others involved in the crime. He or she is said to have turned king’s evidence, or queen’s evidence if the reigning monarch is a queen. A person who pleads guilty and turns king’s or queen’s evidence generally receives a reduced sentence for the crime.
