Remarkables

Remarkables are a range of mountains near the southern end of Lake Wakatipu, in the South Island of New Zealand. The highest peak of the range is Double Cone, which is 7,687 feet (2,343 meters) above sea level. The second highest peak, Ben Nevis, rises 7,651 feet (2,332 meters) above sea level. The mountains are called the Remarkables because of the barren and rugged summits, and the steep cliffs. See also New Zealand (The land).
